Terms & Conditions of Hire

Quotes: Unless otherwise stated in writing a Mt Tamborine Picnics quote will be valid for 14 days from the date of issue. ​Quotes are confirmed as a booking when a full payment has been received by Mt Tamborine Picnics.

 

Payment terms: Full payment to be made two weeks prior to the picnic date unless other arrangements has been made by Mt Tamborine Picnics. For group picnics of 8 or more guests, payment is required 4 weeks prior to the picnic date.  

Payments should be made by bank transfer or cash to Mt Tamborine Picnics. Bookings cannot be confirmed without payment. Failure to pay may result in cancellation of a booking.


Bond: The hirer will pay a bond to an amount that will be agreed when order is placed.

 

Cancellations or date changes: Cancelations will result in part loss of payment.

Cancel 5 days prior to picnic date 25% of payment will be retained by Mt Tamborine Picnics

Cancel 3 days prior to picnic date 50% of payment will be retained by Mt Tamborine Picnics

Cancel less than 3 days prior to picnic date 75% of payment will be retained by Mt Tamborine Picnics

Credit for future bookings is given if event is cancelled due to Covid-19 Government border closures.

Any date changes (not cancelation) can be made 7 days prior to the picnic date with no financial penalty – after this, penalties apply.

 

Wet weather: Mt Tamborine Picnics will discuss a wet weather plan with the client at time of booking and means the outdoor picnic will move to an undercover location and changed to a table-top setup.    

In the case where the weather forecast predicts inclement weather, Mt Tamborine Picnics will not assemble hire items outdoors. Same goes for winds blowing more than 12kmph at the lookout location.

 

Loss/damage to hire items: All hire items supplied to the hirer are property of Mt Tamborine Picnics unless otherwise stated in a signed document. Damage to or loss of hire items within the hire period will immediately be reported by the hirer to Mt Tamborine Picnics. 

 

Site approval if required:  The hirer shall be responsible for giving any local or other authorities any necessary notice of their intention to host an event that includes Mt Tamborine Picnics hire items.

Venue details and access if required: It is the responsibility of the hirer;

In the event there is no access to loading bays in commercial areas the hirer will pre-pay or reimburse if there are costs for parking. 

 

Extended hire:  Mt Tamborine Picnics will deliver, assemble, pack down and remove items as agreed upon. An extended hire surcharge will apply in the event that;

 

 Alcohol Consumption:  It is the responsibilities of the hirer to check alcohol laws of any venue or public space being used for one of our picnics. Many public parks are prohibited from drinking alcohol and a fine can be issued.  Mt Tamborine Picnics take no responsibility for any alcohol consumption or penalties occurred.


Food: Should guest want to bring their own food, the food must be picnic food. No cooked stews or curries are allowed. Any dishes with sauces that can stain the tableware are not allowed.

COVID-19:  No refunds will be given due to cancellations related to COVID-19.  We will issue credit with a 6 month timeframe to be used for the same event or a different event in the future.

 

Security:  The hirer is responsible for the supervision and security of Mt Tamborine Picnics hire items until such time that it is collected by Mt Tamborine Picnics. At no time should any hire items be left unaccompanied by the hirer.

In the event that hire items are stolen from the venue or location;

 

Safety: The hirer is to ensure adequate safety measures are adopted when using hire items provided by Mt Tamborine Picnics when necessary. 

 

The hirer agrees to;

 

Mt Tamborine Picnics accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained where the hirer and or guests move or incorrectly use items against the recommendation or instruction of Mt Tamborine Picnics.

 

Mt Tamborine Picnics accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained from any insects, ants, wildlife or falling branches from trees in parks while a picnic is in progress.

 

Cleaning: All hire items should be made ready by the hiree for pack down and removal by Mt Tamborine Picnics at the agreed time.

Rubbish should be removed from surfaces and cleared from the venue or location by the hirer. It is not the responsibility of Mt Tamborine Picnics to remove any rubbish other than empty grazing boxes.

Plates, glasses and flatware should be left on the table to be packed away by Mt Tamborine Picnics. Plates and glasses should be emptied but not cleaned. Any empty BYO bottles that the hiree brings to the picnic should be taken away by hiree as most parks do not have rubbish bins.

 

Interpretation: 

" Mt Tamborine Picnics” means the business responsible for the hiring of items.

​"The hirer" means the person or persons business who will be hiring items.

"Hire Items" means furniture, crockery, glassware, flatware, décor and associated accessories in packages hired by the hiree from Mt Tamborine Picnics.
